Georgia Tech College of Business "Entrepreneurship" Professor and Students visit the Bay Area on a field trip
On October 11, 2012, Professor Saby Mitra of the Scheller College of Business, Georgia Tech, Atlanta, GA brought a group of 20+ MBA students for a field trip to Silicon Valley to visit various startups and successful Valley companies like eBay and Google. Motiv CEO Jim Castelaz made a brief presentation on Motiv accompanied by VP of Marketing, Shyam Nagrani who happens to be a Georgia Tech alumnus though from the School of Engineering. The students rode in the all-electric Motiv demo shuttle bus and were very interested in the technology and more so in the business aspects of Motiv.
Motiv exhibited at HTUF 2012 show at the Charlotte Convention Center, Charlotte, NC and participated in the Ride-and-Drive event at the ZMax Speedway, Concord, NC.
Workplace Charging: Filling a Critical Infrastructure Gap

Jim Castelaz, Motiv CEO and Shyam Nagrani, VP Marketing attended this CalStart event. The Motiv demo shuttle bus was driven down to Mt View to show Google. Google is interested in all-electric shuttle buses. We are trying to get Google as a beta customer for an all-electric shuttle bus with the Motiv ePCS (electric Powertrain Control System) for employee use. Google operates 73 shuttle buses as well as leases another 26.
Motiv completing first CEC grant of $1.3M with the California Energy Commission (CEC)
Jim Castelaz, CEO, and 3 others met with the CEC employees who have been administering this grant for the Final Review Meeting at the CEC headquarters in Sacramento, CA on July 9, 2012. This grant along with matching funds from Motiv resulted in the demo 20-passenger all-electric shuttle bus for Bauer's Transportation with the Motiv electric Powertrain Control System (ePCS). This bus was shown at the Work Truck Show 2012 at Indianapolis, IN in early March. This bus is now being used to log monitoring data for the operation of the ePCS and has already logged more than a thousand miles. We expect the CEC project to be completed in August, at which time the shuttle will continue operation for Bauer's Transportation as the Bay Area's premier all-electric shuttle bus.

The CEC team managing our grant has been competent and very helpful and we thank them for making this a very positive experience for Motiv.

Motiv exhibited at the Work Truck 2012 show and participated in the Green Truck Ride-and-Drive.
The Work Truck Show 2012, held March 6-8 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, was the biggest work truck event in history. It broke all standing event records, with a verified 10,408 attendees checking out work trucks and equipment from 563 exhibitors. Attendees had the unique opportunity to drive or ride in cutting-edge green vehicles on the streets of Indianapolis during the Green Truck Ride-and-Drive. The event featured 23 vehicles representing a variety of alternative fuels and technologies.
