Motiv’s patented All-Electric Powertrain uses commercially-available battery packs and motors to make reliable Battery Electric trucks and buses with the same chassis and bodies as their fossil-fueled counterparts. The only difference is what’s powering the truck clean, cheap, stable electricity!


At the heart of Motiv’s Powertrain is the Motiv Adaptive Power Converter, or APC. The APC is a voltage converter that moves and converts power between batteries and the vehicle. The APC allows Motiv’s system to integrate any number of battery packs with different chemistries, voltages, and current charge and discharge specifications. This fully bidirectional, non-isolated DC-DC converter is used to manage each battery pack’s integration in the powertrain and is manufactured in Hayward, CA.

Electric and Natural Gas Overview
